Hardware Engineer

Four years ago, Jeff came to EVI right out of Michigan Tech's engineering program. He has been happy with the experience ever since.  "It reminds me a lot of a university laboratory.  Once in a while we have to work through the night, but generally the atmosphere is relaxed and flexible."

As a hardware engineer, Jeff works on a wide variety of projects.  He designs switching power supplies, RF filters and phase lock loops, and mechanical manufacturing procedures and processes.  He has found that, at EVI, he "...can do real hardware design."

Jeff enjoys challenge, both at work and in his personal life.  He is currently building his own airplane and has a reputation as a competent windsurfer and backpacker.  EVI's location — less than an hour from the mountains or the Chesapeake Bay — and flexible hours enable him to leave work early to either windsurf or hike on the Appalachian Trail.  Jeff also plays in EVI's bluegrass band.

Jeff is content in EVI's challenging atmosphere.  "I have learned a lot and am still on the steep part of the learning curve.  But that's the way I like it."
