The software runs on the server and performs several functions:
- Configures and manages the sensors
- Creates a logical-to-physical map of the sensors in the facility
- Analyzes the data from the sensors
- Determines the location of active cell phones
Client applications are for user access to Cell Hound™. They may run on the server itself or on remote computers networked to the server. The three Client applications – Monitor, Reporter, and Manager – are discussed below. Access to each of the Clients is controlled on a user-by-user basis to prevent tampering.
Which Client you'll use to access the software depends on your job functions and permissions:
- Monitor Client: The Monitor Client handles everyday use of the system including real-time display and clearing of located calls. This is the application that most users will access. It provides a graphical depiction of the facility map with located calls indicated by red circles.
- Reporter Client: This client gives the user access to historical data, reports, and other information.
- Manager Client: This client is used to set up and maintain the system. It allows specially-trained users to configure the system for operation and to perform maintenance, if required.
